The Filmmakers

STEVE MENA (Director, Writer, Co-Producer) began making films in his backyard at age 11. While other kids were playing sports, he was making movies. He also spent many years honing his craft as a screenwriter. Steve’s much heralded debut feature, Malevolence, was truly a remarkable achievement. Shot on a shoestring budget, with the actor’s and crew all taking deferred payments, including himself, Steve wrote, produced, directed, edited and even composed the score for Malevolence. Malevolence went on to win several Film Festivals, including best feature at the Long Island International Film Expo, and Best Feature at the NYC Horror Film Festival. It was awarded best screenplay at the 2004 internet choice awards, and was listed on numerous “best horror film of the year” lists.

Steve’s recently completed feature, Brutal Massacre: a comedy, won him the Best Director award at the 2007 Long Island International Film Expo and he is currently in post production on his latest film, Malevolence 2: Bereavement, the prequel to his hit debut feature.

TOM BAMBARD (Producer) is a 25 year business and marketing veteran who met Steve Mena during his tenure at Anchor Bay Ent. where, as Director of Marketing for horror films, Tom was responsible for the release of Steve’s first film Malevolence. With the success of that film and
several years of continued discussions regarding new film projects with Steve, they decided to join forces in a new production company and begin making films together. With a creative background of producing supplemental special features for DVD, Tom has now produced two feature films with Steve; Brutal Massacre: A Comedy, and Bereavement, the prequel to Steve’s film Malevolence and is currently working on pre-production for their next film.
